To those of you who have seen my (now retired) Chuck Taylors with things written all over them, one of the lyrics I’ve written there is “I WILL BECOME THIS ANIMAL.” It’s a lyric from one of my favorite Andrew Bird songs, Anonanimal. He recently released the (mostly) animated video to the beautiful song and it’s totally worthy of a post here.

I love how he’s in the video about half-way into the song. Oh, Andrew Bird, you are so dreamy.

Imogen Heap’s Ellipse comes out August 24/25th (UK and US dates) and the constant tweets on her Twitter only make me restless for this album. We’ve been waiting since 2005 for a new album, even though since then and now she’s released several songs that had nothing to do with her albums (see: Can’t Take It In, Glittering Cloud, Not Now But Soon). An entire album full of brand new songs to listen to constantly, on repeat, to use as our everyday background music is so tempting…and so close to life.

The photo above is from a photoshoot with the amazingly talented Jeremy Cowart. This is simply a sneak peak. The Hideaway Team has been offering some behind the scenes information about Miss Heap and her upcoming album, so definitely follow them on Twitter for more information and sneak peaks.

Franz Ferdinand is back, after something like a 4 year hiatus? 3 years? 5 years? I don’t really know, and I am too lazy to find out exactly how long it’s been since they were “active.” But this band of pretty boys (no seriously, all of these men are Europeanlicously gorgeous) is back and they have a new album coming out on the 26th of January. January is this month. The 26th is ten days from now. Be excited.

I’m still a little bit cautious on actually purchasing one of these sexy iPod Nanos for the following reasons:

What color should I choose?
16gb isn’t even enough for just my music.
WHAT COLOR SHOULD I CHOOSE?

One of my favorite things about this iPod is the accelerometer (I pronounce it ek-sell-er-oh-mee-ter even though it’s ek-sell-er-ah-mitter). Sure, Cover Flow is cool and fun, but have you played Maze? That is hands down the best thing on the iPod Nano. Straight out of the box, already installed, is Maze. Yes, you could probably find an app in the App Store for your iPhone or iPod Touch, but this game is absolutely amazing and time consuming. I love it, even though I don’t own one.

Really, all this iPod Nano needs to do is have a vibrate feature. I’d marry it.

In case you’re curious, here is the song that is used in the commercial: Chairlift – “Bruises”. Very, very catchy.

I love Lily Allen. I think she’s talented and gorgeous and hilarious and her lyrics are so straight-forward and down-to-earth. She even shares my evergrowing hatred for that anorexic ugly freak Amy Winehouse.
