I think Prince Caspian was absolutely amazing. It was highly enjoyable. Even if you haven’t read the books, even if you hadn’t seen the (crappy) first movie (The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe), you would have a lot of fun watching this movie. You don’t have to like British or Spanish accents, but it helps. And if you’re like me, having a crush on Ben Barnes will come in handy.

One of the things that bothered me is the fact that Prince Caspian isn’t much of a main character in this movie. The movie doesn’t revolve around everyone equally. You could call the movie The Chronicles of Narnia: Susan and Caspian Have a Lot Of Eye Sex and Lucy Is In Love With a Lion and Peter Needs Anger Management and Who is Edmund Again? That right there is basically the movie. There’s a lot of Lucy x Aslan in the movie. A lot of Peter being emo. A lot of Susan and Caspian wanting to lose virginities to each other. And not enough Edmund. Seriously, all he wants is some Turkish Delight.

Okay, I lied. Like I said earlier, the movie is enjoyable. It’s long, but all the events are spaced out properly. The battle scenes are okay, especially since it’s a Disney movie. What I liked about the movie was the fact that there are some parts where they say something funny and I actually laugh. This isn’t like Speed Racer where every time the monkey is on screen, the audience laughs. These Brits actually say something funny and it’s a good reason to laugh.

This time around, the graphics aren’t horrible. In fact, they made that little mouse, Reepicheep, especially adorable. Another thing that made the movie great was the music. Harry Gregson-Williams did the score for the previous movie, and Prince Caspian is no different. This movie doesn’t have a really amazing mini-song like “A Narnia Lullaby” from the last movie, but Harry Gregson-Williams is great nonetheless. And unlike the last movie, Imogen Heap didn’t sing the closing song for the movie. She had written one, but unfortunately it was “too dark” for the producers and then they chose Regina Spektor to sing it. Her song is called “The Call”, and after watching the movie it really is such a fitting song. It makes me want to cry.

Caspian’s accent sucks. I mean, he’s supposed to have that accent, but Ben Barnes makes it look really silly. But still, Ben Barnes is a great Caspian, and he’s so cute, and hot, and sexy, and perfect and you should spend however much money a ticket is at your movie theater just to drool all over your clothes.

But really, it is a great movie. Sure it didn’t follow the book word-for-word, but it was still a really wonderful movie. Overall, I’d give it an 8.5869999999 out of 10. Needs more Ben Barnes with no accent and with no shirt on.

To conclude this post, Regina Spektor – The Call. It’s cute.

Watch the movie. Seriously.
